Eric Hill is the president of Muscle Energy Health and Fitness training
services. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the
University of Maryland at College Park.
Eric has worked as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Specialist in various
fitness settings in the Metro D.C. area for over 7 years. He has received
several awards including Testimonial of the Year 2000 and Trainer of
the Year 2001 at Golds Gym Van Ness in D.C.
In tandem with his work in the gym, Eric works in the rehabilitation
environment. He began his clinical experience at National Rehabilitation
Hospital, where he spent two years in various areas of specialization
in Physical Therapy. His varied experiences in this environment ranged
from training paraplegics to walk with specialized braces, to working
with seniors in overcoming functional deficits, and guiding individuals
in work conditioning programs designed to help them improve their functional
abilities in their work place.
At Reston Therapy and Fitness, Eric is an Orthopedic Clinical Exercise
Specialist. He runs a Medically Supervised Fitness Center which is a
combination of rehabilitation, sports medicine, and physical fitness.
In conjunction with a team of Physical Therapists, he develops therapeutic
exercise regimens for patients struggling with various musculoskeletal
injuries, disorders, or post corrective surgical procedures, and guides
them through recovery.
He is a member of and certified by the National Strength and Conditioning
Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(CSCS), which is recognized as an advanced certification in the fitness
industry. The CSCS is one of the very few fitness professional certifications
which requires it recipients to hold a bachelors degree in a fitness
related field.
Also, Eric has acquired an advanced certification from the National
Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Performance Enhancement Specialist
(PES). The NASM is one of the National leaders in the sports and fitness
industry in enhancing human performance. They specialize in utilizing
integrated functional training techniques to improve athletic performance
and individual functional daily abilities.
Eric is also a Field-tester for NIKE, Inc. In this capacity, he receives
experimental products from the NIKE Training Gear division to test,
give feedback, and make recommendations to the research and development
staff.
